Fall is upon us once again, and while I’m sad about the end of summer and the increasing grayness, I still love this season. Apple picking, pumpkin carving, ghost stories, and fuzzy sweaters. There’s nothing better than being warm and cozy while a chilly rain falls outside my window. Getting warm and cozy requires being wrapped in a blanket like a burrito, and now you can actually look like a burrito. This blanket comes in different flavors, and you’re not limited to just tortillas. Would you prefer to be a pizza? How about a waffle? Whatever round food you choose, you’re guaranteed to be toasty.
Animal Onesies Forever
Onesies are the most comfortable form of pajamas. At least, until you have to pee. The adult versions have gotten so popular over the last few years that you can find almost any animal you want. Another heat delivery device, this cute red panda is full of grain and lavender. It has a nice weight and smells amazing, and you can put it in the microwave to create a toasty cuddle buddy. Mine is excellent for the winter months when my bedroom is freezing at night and it takes ages for me to warm up. I warm up my panda a half hour or so before bed and stick it under the covers to warm things up before I go to sleep. It also leaves behind the scent of lavender, which puts me right to sleep. I think the red panda is adorable but there are a bunch of different animals available, including a dinosaur. They’re all so cute.
Your Pet Deserves Coziness Too
We can’t forget pets when we’re talking about being cozy! This bed is cute and looks extremely cozy. There’s a built-in blanket too. The bottom has a waterproof coating, just in case your buddy has an accident, and it’s machine washable. If I had a cat or a small dog I know they’d love this bed.
Slippers to chill in
It’s probably ridiculous to have more than one pair of slippers, but here we are. These are somewhere between socks and slippers. They’re warm and fuzzy, with non-skid soles, but they aren’t waterproof. You can wear them with socks if you’d like, and they’re machine washable just in case they get funky. Also, they’re so cute. There’s a ton of patterns, colors, sayings, holidays, all of the things. My favorites are the ones with alcohol and sloths. Just a personal preference.
Stop Burning Your Hands On Your Soup Bowls
I’m a generally impatient person, especially when I’m hungry, so making things in the microwave can be precarious. Part of being impatient is not waiting long enough to pull stuff out of the microwave, and not bothering to use oven mitts. Bad things. So I think these bowl holder things are so cool and will save me so many burns. They’re microwave safe, so they can go in when the bowl is cold, and they don’t heat up. They insulate the bowl so I don’t burn my hands. They’re microfiber so they’re easy to clean, and they’re also machine washable. Where have they been all my life?
Who doesn’t need Another Cozy Candle
This candle smells amazing, like late fall. It reminds me of walking into my aunt’s house on Thanksgiving Day, smelling all of the amazing things she’s been making, along with the pine trees next to the front door. Those smells mingle on the threshold, and somehow this candle captures that smell perfectly. Warm & Cozy isn’t the only scent, and I’m sure they’re all great, but this is the one I’ll be buying forever.

This product is simultaneously weird and intriguing. It’s a weighted blanket pod thing, with a heated, vibrating footrest. It seems like the ultimate cozy device, but I’m wondering if all of those things combined are just too much, but I’m willing to give it a shot.

A Mug Warmer Because Cold Coffee Season Is Over
Another part of the effort to constantly have a hot drink by my side is this mug warmer. The temperature is adjustable up to 194º F, so whatever I’m drinking can be kept at optimal temperature. It shuts off automatically after 8 hours so I never have to worry about whether I turned it off when I leave the house. It’s also pressure-activated, so it’s not possible to turn it on unless there’s a mug sitting on it. When the mug is removed the warmer stays on for a few seconds, but then shuts itself off if the mug isn’t replaced. It gets a big thumbs up from me.
Blackout Curtains to Keep Heat Inside Where It Belongs
I live in the frozen tundra of the Northeast United States, and it gets cold here. Often it’s snowing before Halloween, so keeping the heat inside is something we start thinking about immediately after Labor Day. Blackout curtains are vitally important for this purpose, as they’re heavy enough to block drafts from my windows. I particularly like these for the cute cutouts. The holes aren’t big enough to let much cold air in, and I like the twinkling star effect.
A Good Coffee Maker To Help Me Get Through the Day
I can barely function without coffee. I know that a lot of people say that, but I’m rendered basically useless without it, which is why I invested in a nice coffee maker. This model makes up to 10 cups of coffee, plenty to get me through the day. There’s also a built-in water filter, so if I don’t happen to have filtered water available my coffee still tastes good. The water tank is removable for easy filling, and the carafe keeps my coffee hot and fresh for hours. Constant access to hot drinks raises the coziness quotient.
My Favorite Tea Mug
I hope you like talking about tea because there’s a lot of tea and tea-adjacent stuff on this list. Tea is synonymous with cozy in my mind, so I appreciate a nice tea delivery system like this mug. It comes with a lid to aid in steeping and an infuser that fits perfectly inside the mug. It also rests nicely within the lid when the tea is steeped and I’m too lazy to leave my office to clean it out. The mug is heavy and sturdy and feels like it’s going to last a long time. I really like the shape – it fits in the cupholder in my car and just plain looks nice. It even comes in my favorite shade of green.
A Portable Desk That Makes Working From the Sofa More Comfortable
I’m lucky enough to have an office space in my house, which I know not everyone does. It’s tiny and freezing, but there’s a door and a window, so I can’t complain too much. Sometimes though, I just can’t take the cold and need to move to a warmer part of the house. This lap desk makes that move so much more comfortable. The Best Electric Kettle I’ve Ever Owned
A vital tool in my quest for coziness is my electric kettle. I use it for tea, oatmeal, noodles, even keeping chicken stock warm when I make risotto. It has a large capacity so I can make multiple cups of tea before I have to fill it. I can set the temperature so each type of tea is steeped perfectly, and it has a ‘Keep Warm’ function that will hold the liquid at a specific temperature for up to 20 minutes. Most importantly to me is that it heats up quickly, boiling a full kettle in about five minutes, and it’s quiet.
A Campfire Mug Advocating Coziness
I love a good campfire mug. They usually have a large capacity and fairly simple design, both of which really appeal to me. This one, in particular, recalls evenings by the fire, drinking hot toddies by the fire. The black and white design is very cute and totally Insta-worthy. i don’t hate it.
Make Your Office More Cozy
We hear all the time that sitting in a desk chair all day is bad for us. Some of us also struggle with chronic pain from sitting in uncomfortable chairs. I generally keep several kinds of loose tea in my house, because variety is the spice of life, but I was struggling to keep them from getting stale. Sandwich bags helped, but they don’t look very nice. I didn’t have many expectations for these canisters but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. They hold more tea than I expected, which is great for me because I drink a lot of it. There are two lids and some kind of magic makes them air tight. Getting tea out of them is way more convenient than their original packaging or sandwich bags. I’m thinking about buying another set for coffee or rice or whatever other dry goods I need to store.
Warm and Cozy Slippers That You Can Wear to Get Your Takeout From the Porch
I’m torn on the aesthetics of slippers. There are some with the cuteness factor but lack the cozy factor and vice versa. While these aren’t the cutest slippers I’ve ever seen, they are extremely cozy. My toes stay toasty, so I’m a fan. They can be worn outdoors so I can wear them to get the mail, or more likely, my GrubHub order off my porch. They’re also machine washable so I can keep them fresh and ready for cozy adventures.
A Hooded Sweatshirt for Chilly Evenings
A hooded sweatshirt, or hoodie as the kids say, is a staple in any cozy closet. I’d be lying to you if I told you I only owned one hoodie. It’s more like 12 hoodies, but this is one of my favorites. It’s comfortable and keeps me warm in my frigid office. It’s easy to care for and hasn’t shrunk or lost its shape through many washings. It’s been a few years and it’s still in heavy rotation.
Cute and Toasty Socks
One of the worst parts about fall is cold toes, so I’ll go to great lengths to prevent it from happening. One of the best products for this is wool socks, and I’ve now purchased these in three different color sets. They don’t require much special care and they fit my tiny feet perfectly, plus they’re toasty. Oh, and I love the fair isle pattern. It’s so cute, and since they’re all basically the same pattern I don’t worry much about matching them. Who has time to match socks anyway?
My Favorite Chai Tea
There’s something extra cozy about chai tea. It reminds me of warm baked goods and Christmas, and it’s one of my favorite teas for the cold weather. Vadham makes my favorite varieties of chai and I buy it in bulk because I drink it like water. Sometimes I get fancy and make lattes, but mostly I drink it straight and it’s excellent.
A Frother for My Chai Lattes
When I want to put the effort into making a chai latte, I need something to whip milk, and this is the best frother I’ve found. I heat up almond or oat milk for a few seconds in the microwave, and this makes short work of creating foam. It comes with a stand and runs on AA batteries, and the battery life is surprisingly long. It’s extremely easy to clean. It also works great for hot chocolate, dalgona coffee, anything that needs to be mixed vigorously. 12/10 would recommend.
More Slippers, Because One Pair Is Never Enough
Everyone needs more than one pair of slippers. How else are you supposed to keep your toes warm when the first pair is in the wash? Like the other slippers on this list, these are warm and toasty, and very comfortable. They also have hard soles so I can wear them outside. They’re easy to clean. I love them.
The Coziest Breakfast Food
I love oatmeal. When I was younger I practically lived on instant oatmeal because I was too lazy to cook for just myself. Now that I’m a real adult I eat less of it but I still love it, and the Quaker Real Medleys are my absolute favorite. They’re made with good ingredients (though there is a lot of sugar), and cups are convenient and portable for the rare occasion when I need to leave the house.
Velvet Scrunchies So You Don’t Have to Brush Your Hair for Cozy Time
I love that scrunchies have made a comeback. They’re so much better for my fine, thin hair than elastics. I don’t have that much hair to begin with, so the breakage is a concern for sure. These scrunchies are especially good for preventing breakage. I wear them to keep my hair out of my face when I sleep, and when I wake up my hair isn’t all tangled and there’s no weird bump. I love them and I might need to buy a second set.
A Heavy-Duty Hoodie for When I Actually Go Outside
Carhartt makes classic clothing for people who work in physical roles. Mechanics, farmers, construction workers, people who need their clothing to withstand often extreme conditions and keep them warm. That’s what compelled me to buy this hoodie. I like warm things that last a long time, and so far it hasn’t disappointed me. Sure, it’s a “men’s” hoodie, but since when does clothing have a gender? I like the colors, it’s excellent quality, and it didn’t fall apart after three washes.
Aromatherapy Oils for Maximum Relaxation
I find that aromatherapy really works for me, so essential oils are a necessity. This set comes with all of the basic oils I need for calmness, stress relief, and help sleeping. During the pandemic, they’ve been vital for my mental well-being. I’ll wrap myself in a blanket and spend a few minutes just breathing, attempting to relax and leaning into the cozy feeling.
An Amazon Basics Hoodie That’s Affordable and Cozy
Amazon has really stepped up their game with their Basics in the last few years. I’ve bought other things from this line, mostly electronics and extension cords, but I was curious about the clothing. The sizing is a bit limited, but otherwise, I really like this hoodie. I bought it in green, my favorite color, and it’s held up really well. It’s soft and sturdy, the color hasn’t washed out, it hasn’t changed shape or shrunk from washing, so I’m pleased with the purchase.
Sweatpants… With Pockets
For some reason, clothing manufacturers don’t think that women’s clothing needs pockets. I don’t know why. Pockets are amazing. I love pockets, and items of clothing that include them are more likely to come home with me. My fellow work-from-home folks know that sometimes, getting dressed is more than we can handle, so sweats are really necessary. These are comfortable, come in a bunch of cute colors and patterns, including tie-dye, and the material is really good quality. I’ve been wearing and washing mine consistently for the last 18 months and they still fit just as well and feel just as cozy as they did when I first bought them.
Soft Cotton Sheets for the Coziest Night’s Sleep
Cotton sheets are an absolute necessity for cozy sleep in my world. I really love these because they’re affordable but still good quality, and they come in nice colors that go with my decor. They’re soft and breathable, so I don’t wake up gross and sweaty. Pilling is my biggest problem with sheets since I move around a lot in my sleep, but after two years there’s no pilling on these. I’m getting ready to redecorate my bedroom and I’ll definitely be buying another set of these.

I love my bed and I love sleeping. It’s my favorite hobby, especially when it’s chilly. To that end, I need nice pillows, and these are definitely nice pillows. They’re like fluffy clouds, but they’re not too soft. The filling isn’t down so they’re good for people with allergies, plus that strange down pillow smell. They’re the most expensive pillows I’ve ever purchased and they’ve been worth every penny.
A Rubber Stopper That Makes Baths Possible
This is more of a practical item, but I thought someone else might be able to use it. I have an old bathtub and the stopper was removed and lost many decades ago, I’m sure. When we moved in that fact made me sad, as I really like baths, and I went hunting for tub-stopping solutions. I purchased a few other options and they didn’t really work. Water would still leak out slowly, making the whole operation unpleasant and kind of pointless. This one from Oxo works really well, and does exactly what I need it to do. It also happens to be my favorite color, which is a nice bonus.
Thousands of Books, So Little Time
I like to read. It’s one of my favorite cozy activities. I also like to travel when there isn’t a global pandemic. Surprisingly, those two things aren’t really compatible, as books are quite heavy and just one never gets me through an entire trip. A little over 10 years ago I bought my first Kindle in an attempt to solve this problem and I’ve never looked back. I still buy and own physical books, but if I’m leaving the house for any reason it’s the Kindle that comes with me. The newest version is about to be released with better battery life and lights, and I’m definitely upgrading.
Not Your Grandma’s Heating Pad
Heating pads are good for so many things – aches, pains, cramps, minor injuries, the list goes on. I don’t currently own one because, well, they’re ugly. Also, the last time I bought one it was weirdly inflexible, and I couldn’t change the temperature and it wasn’t practical. I’m tempted to buy this one because it appears that all of those problems have been solved. The pastels are cute and it looks like the material is soft. It also appears that the pad itself is flexible enough to be wrapped around my neck, shoulders, and the other places I need heat. The temperature control seems adequate and I appreciate that it shuts itself off automatically.
The Fuzziest Blanket
I take one look at this blanket and I know that it’s extremely soft and fluffy and fuzzy. I want to put it on my sofa and take a nap under it. I love it and I haven’t even bought it yet. It comes in a bunch of different size and color combinations, with a faux fur or shag variation. Yankee Candle is, in my mind, the original smelly candle company. I can remember being a teenager, going to the mall with my friends, and thinking that I was so cool walking around with a Yankee Candle bag. It usually only had one votive or an air freshener in it because that’s all I could afford, but still. So cool. I would have loved this candle, just like I do now. It smells like spending a weekend at a cabin in the woods and making caramel apple pie. I can smell the smoke, the sweetness of caramel, and the scent of the woods. It’s just so good.

These pants are so incredibly comfortable. High-waisted, wide-legged, stretchy, with pockets. They’re not super warm, but they keep me at a comfortable temperature. They were just made for lounging. They’re the kind of pants I would throw on if I had to run errands, and immediately hit the couch with a book when I got home. They come in a variety of colors and have enough sizes for most people, and they’re relatively inexpensive. I want them in every color.
The Sweater Blanket of My Dreams
It’s a sweater! It’s a blanket! It’s both, and it’s cozy! The cable knit sweater combined with a sherpa lining makes this blanket really warm on chilly nights. I have the oversize version and it’s big enough to share with my sweetie when we snuggle. The grey version is really lovely, but I do wish they had more options.
A Cozy Couch for Your Floor That Doubles as an Extra Bed
This is an actual sofa with a frame and throw pillows and everything. It’s made of corduroy so it’s durable and washable, and it’s possible to adjust the angle of the backrest. I don’t have much furniture in my guest room because it’s small and oddly shaped, but this would fit and actually make that room functional. I could sit there and read or work, and when people come stay with me they won’t be relegated to the couch. This is excellent and I can’t wait to buy it.

I can’t think of anything cozier than just wearing a blanket and pretending it’s fashionable. This one even has fringe, but it’s still a blanket and I don’t hate it. I wish they had more colors because I’d buy a few. They’re so warm, and who needs a fall coat if I can just wear a blanket?

I find fire really cozy. Any kind of fire: bonfires, fireplaces, lanterns, all fire delivery methods, which is why I love these lanterns. They’re not real fire, but they sure look like it. The “flames” are LED and run on AA batteries. They stay cool to the touch because they don’t put out any heat, but how adorable would they be sitting in your front windows for Halloween? Or on tables with leaves and cranberries for Thanksgiving? Too cute.

I don’t like when my pillows tell me what to do, but when the message is this convenient I can’t help but listen. Stay cozy. It’s so simple, but so many of us still struggle. Being cozy requires us to stop for a minute and consider our own needs. We have to figure out what makes us cozy, and then make the time to do it. It’s not as easy as it seems, but I think we should start working toward that.
Another Wearable Blanket
Wearable blankets are getting more prevalent and I’m not mad about it. This one even has a hood and pockets. I don’t love when clothing items are “one size fits all”, because that’s never the truth, but this might actually work. It comes in cute animal prints and it’s easy to clean. I like it. Very cozy.

I love to read and I think that there’s a lot of wisdom to be gleaned from books. This book promises to teach how to bring true and lasting coziness by identifying our truth and taking it into the world. I like this concept, and I’m interested in reading it.
Shoes or Slippers? You Decide!
Sketchers makes some of my favorite shoes. Sneakers, walking shoes, boots, I’ve had so many of them. This is why these slippers look so appealing. They’re microfiber with faux fur, and they could almost pass as shoes. I’d probably wear them as shoes.
Fuzzy Sweatpants
I spend half of my life in sweatpants, as do so many other people who work from home. When things start cooling down normal sweats aren’t quite cozy enough, so I bought a few pairs with sherpa lining. They’re incredibly soft and warm and they come in cute colors. They’ll even work in the dead of winter when my office is really cold.
Make Your Mug Cozy
This is one of the cutest things I’ve ever found on Amazon. It’s a sweater for your mug. It’s supposed to keep your beverage warm while also protecting your hand. There are other things that serve this same purpose, but they aren’t nearly as cute. I need multiple sweater mugs in my life.
Knockoff Uggs That Are Just As Ugly and Cozy
I think Uggs are really unattractive, but I know that they’re cozy. I can’t bring myself to spend that kind of money on boots that I don’t like, so I buy fake Uggs instead. I’ve been doing it for years, but my toes stay toasty just the same.
Mystery Novels for Rainy Afternoons
I keep talking about reading books with blankets and tea, and these are great books for that. They’re not overly dramatic or too fluffy. The protagonist isn’t very likable in the beginning but she does a lot of growing. If you’re a fan of Schitt’s Creek you’ll likely enjoy these books.
Waterproof Boots for Fall Hikes
Sorel has been creating some of the best waterproof footwear for decades. In the last few years, they’ve figured out that making attractive footwear is almost as important as making it waterproof. Their current boots are extremely cute but still functional. They’re still waterproof, but they’ve added details like faux fur, interesting laces, and new colors. I may need to buy a new pair.
A Wall-Mounted Fireplace
Fireplaces are peak coziness, but not every house is equipped with one. This wall-mounted model solves that problem. The flames are so pretty, and the heater is handy for those cold fall nights. It’s possible to use the flames without the heater if you’re just looking for ambiance. It has a remote control and touch controls on the device, and you can change the intensity of the flames. The installation is relatively easy, and you can even install it recessed in the wall. Coziness level 100.
Soft, Lovely Sheets
I mentioned earlier in this list that I love nice cotton sheets. I also love bamboo sheets. They’re incredibly soft, plus they’re made from sustainable materials. These only come in white, but there are other brands that make them in any color you could want. Most importantly to me is that they’re easy to care for and don’t require extra effort.
Fuzzy Mattress Topper
Mattress toppers are supposed to protect your mattress and add an additional layer of comfort to your bed. This one is sherpa, making it extra warm and cozy. Getting into bed is like climbing into a cloud when this is on your bed.
Next Level Cozy Shoes
Crocs are so ugly, but for some reason, they’re also extremely comfortable and popular. I don’t currently own a pair but I’m the only person I know who doesn’t.
